Kasauli is a small town situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 1927 m. It is at a distance of 35-km from Kalka and 77 km from Shimla . Kasauli is developed by the British during the ‘hey day’ of the empire, and can be reached by a branch road from the Kalka-Shimla road. With its cool, shaded paths, comes to life in summer when it’s migrant residents return to unlock their summer homes. There isn’t much to do or see here. Simply soak in the beauty of this hilly paradise. The upper and lower Malls are the two principal roads that run around along the length of Kasauli. , it is one of the quietest hill stations in India.

How To Reach Kasauli

By Air : Nearest airport is Chandigarh. Shimla is nearest airport for Solan.

By Rail : The closest railway station is at Kalka , 37 km away and   Solan is also connected with narrow gauge railway line from Kalka.

By Road : It is around 300 kilometers from New Delhi. The journey from Delhi passes through Sonipat, Panipat, Ambala, Chandigarh, Kalka amongst others. It is an enjoyable drive taking upto 6 hours and going through some of the important towns of North India.

Temperature In Kasauli

Best time to visit is between April – November, whether is pleasing and not freezing.
Winter (January-February) : Temperatures ranges between 10 and 20°C. Heavy woollens are recommended if you are planning to visit here.

Summer (May and June) : Temperature goes as high as 32°C.Cottons and light woollens are recomended because days are hot and night are cold.

Places To Visit In Kasauli

Manki Point(4 km): It provides alluring views of the valley below, the city of Chandigarh and even Satluj River. Main attraction is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman.

Sanawar(6 km): The Lawrence school, Sanawar is almost one hundred-years-old and one of the best schools in the country.

Dharampur(15 km): Dharanpur has one of the best tuberculosis treatment centres in India. It is situated on National Highway No. 22.

Christ Church: Christ Church stands out as a magnificent creation drawing the visitor’s attention with its imposing appearance. A grove of chestnut and fir trees surround this 159-year-old structure.

Dagshai(19 km): Dagshai is a small cantonment area. The area comprises of a military public school and numerous military barracks. However, the scenery from there is definitely worth seeing.

Baba Balak Nath Temple: This temple is situated on the Graner Hill top. It is believed that couples having no issues visit this temple to be blessed with a child.

Pastur Institute: In August 1900 this Institute was formally opened for the treatment of dog-bite. Today it is known for making anti-rabies vaccine. It also provides treatments to the people who have fallen prey to the Hydrophobia.

Shirdi Sai baba temple: In 1989 Sai Baba Trust built this temple dedicated to Sai Baba. The burning flame of the temple signifies the divine power of Sai Baba.

Gilbert Hill: The scenic beauty here will lure your heart.

Chaabal: 6 Kms from here is a small village which adds to the beauty of kasauli.

Kasauli Club : Today’s Kasauli Club was founded as “ The Kasauli Reading and Assembly Rooms in 1880. It was reconstructed and today the club is the Centre Point for People spent their time. The Club boasts of a number of facilities which include tennis and squash courts, table tennis, snooker and badminton.
